Prof. Smita Chaturvedi is presently working as a Professor of Hindi Discipline in the School of Humanities at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. She is a distinguished academician specializing in Premchand Hindi novels, folklores, and medieval poetry. With nearly three decades of dedicated teaching, she has significantly contributed to Hindi language and literature through various national and international platforms. Prof. Chaturvedi has edited several scholarly IGNOU course materials and played a key role in developing acclaimed IGNOU courses for Under graduate and PG programs including creative writing in Hindi, Hindi Sahitya Ka Itihas, Madhyakalin Kavita, Premchand, Writing for Radio and Hindi novels. Her extensive contributions include coordinating and advancing e-learning initiatives such as e-PG Pathshala and MOOCs (UGC). She has delivered lectures at various universities and institutions across India.

Apart from her recognition in the literary fraternity, she is the programme coordinator of MA Hindi (MHD) which was awarded the Best Programme Award on Foundation Day held on 19th November, 2024. She has given her contribution as a member in many prestigious committees like the Executive Council, Academic Council, Board of Studies, School Board etc. at IGNOU and in many other Indian universities as well. She presented papers at the World Hindi Conferences. Prof. Chaturvedi also served as Visiting Professor at the ICCR Hindi Chair, Peking University, Beijing.Currently she is working as Director of School of Humanities, IGNOU New Delhi from 1st October 2025.

Dr Pema Eden Samdup joined the Faculty of English in August 1999, and has developed both Bachelor’s Degree as well as Master’s Degree Courses. She has a Ph D in Culture Studies from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She is deeply interested in ICT interventions in the Humanities. Her areas of research interest include Culture Studies, Semiotics, Fiction, South Asian Diasporic Literature and Native Literatures and Culture.

With over 25 years of experience in higher education, Professor Parmod Kumar Mehra began his academic career at Ram Lal Anand College, University of Delhi, before joining Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in 2007.

He earned his Ph.D. in English Studies, with a focus on nationalism and literature as an agency. A recognised scholar in Australian Studies, he was awarded the Australia India Council Fellowship (2010–11), which enabled a scholarly visit to Australia to explore intersections between Australian and Indian writings.

At IGNOU, Professor Mehra serves as the Ph.D. Coordinator and coordinates key courses such as British Drama, Aspects of Language, Modern European Drama, Functional English, Business Communication, and Soft Skills — the latter two also offered on the SWAYAM Portal. He has supervised doctoral research on diverse themes and has delivered lectures at national and international forums.

Professor Mehra has made a significant impact through his research papers and books in the areas of New Literatures, World Literature(s), Folklore, Cinema, Translation Studies, Distance Education, and Research Methodology. In recognition of his distinguished scholarship, he was nominated by the Government of India to the prestigious Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Foundation."

Dr. Malathy A. has around 24 years of teaching experience at the university level. She joined IGNOU as Assistant Professor in 2005 and has been involved with language editing of study material, and development and co-ordination of courses of MA (English), BA English (Hons.), BA (General) and Post Graduate Diploma in Book Publishing. Dr. Malathy A. also supervises PhD research in the English discipline. A post graduate from the University of Kerala, Dr. Malathy A. holds an MPhil in D. H. Lawrence studies from the University of Nottingham, UK, and a PhD in Australian fiction from JNU, New Delhi. Her research focuses on possibilities of re-interpreting traditional Indian critical concepts for contemporary critical discourse. She is also interested in eco-critical approaches to literary texts to consider the intersections between the human and the non-human worlds. She has presented papers at national and international conferences and published papers in national and international journals on these themes.

Dr. Vibhuti Gaur holds a PhD in Folk Literature and Translation Studies from the Centre for English Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Her research constitutes the first doctoral work on Haryanvi regional literature and language studies at JNU. A gold medalist and recipient of the Government of India’s Ministry of HRD Scholarship, she has taught and served in academic capacities at JNU, the University of Delhi, and currently at IGNOU.At IGNOU.

Dr. Gaur coordinates courses and is developing the pioneering programme “Indian Literary Critical Tradition”, which proposes indigenous critical frameworks for literary analysis. Her areas of teaching and research include Indian Aesthetics, Knowledge Systems, Classical Literature, Postcolonial and Diaspora Studies, Gender Studies, Oral Narratives, Performance and cultural studies, Film Studies, English Language Teaching. Digital Humanities.Her doctoral research has been archived and digitized by the University of Delhi’s Centre for Archival and Translation Studies[CATA]. She has published extensively in reputed international journals and edited volumes, and has presented and chaired sessions at numerous national and international conferences.

Dr. Gaur has contributed significantly to the recognition of Haryanvi literature and language in academic discourse and has translated several folk narratives. In Gender Studies, she is the author of Indian Perspective on Women and convened the inaugural Savitribai Phule Memorial Lecture at the Nehru Memorial, Delhi.Her academic engagement extends to national initiatives such as SWAYAM, SWAYAM PRABHA, and E-Vidyabharati, as well as international collaborations like GOAL Guyana, promoting access to quality education through multimedia platforms. She has also contributed to educational outreach through Gyandarshan TV and Gyanvani AIR.

Dr Prashant Shrivastava is an Assistant Professor of English, School of Humanities in Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. Throughout his teaching career of 18 years, he has been a dedicated faculty of English Literature, Communication Skills/Business Communication; researcher, planner of student centric and job oriented activities.

He participated and performed responsibilities successfully in various FDPs, Induction programs, Conferences, Workshops and Training Programs vis-à-vis pedagogical perspectives, research methodologies, IPR, outcome based curriculumand Entrepreneurship etc. Besides, he has been involved in institutional and administrative works assigned by institutions and Administrations i.e. Sector Magistrate in General Election to Lok Sabha 2019, in-charge of Language Labs, ELT activities, coordinator of various academic and administrative activities/clubs, BEC courses editing and publishing magazines/e-magazines, etc."

Rittvika Singh is an Assistant Professor of English at the School of Humanities, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi, with over ten years of teaching experience. She holds an M.A. in English from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and a Ph.D. with a specialization in Folk Theatre from Banaras Hindu University. Her research interests span Indian folk traditions, gender studies, contemporary cultural practices. She has published peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and critical essays in national and international journals.​

Dr. Singh has contributed extensively to academic literature, including pioneering work on Nautanki theatre, gender dynamics in Indian performance traditions, and analyses of contemporary media and literature. She has also published creative writing and translations, having co-translated poetry and children’s literature into Hindi and English. In addition to her research and teaching, she regularly presents at academic seminars and has participated in multiple workshops and faculty development programmes covering translation studies, literature and cinema, and pedagogical innovations.

Jitendra Kumar Srivastava, hails from Deoria District in Uttar Pradesh. He completed his graduation from Gorakhpur and later studied for his Masters and Doctorate in Hindi Literature from JNU, New Delhi.

He is presently working as a Professor of Hindi Literature in the School of Humanities and also holding the post of Director, International Division since July 2021.

He also held the post of Registrar and Director, School of Tourism & Hospitality Service Management, IGNOU in the past.

He is a renowned poet and critic with 30 books to his credit, which include In Dino Halchal, Anbhay Katha, Asunder-Sunder, Bilkul Tumhari Tarah, Kayantaran, Bharatiya Samaj, Rashtravadaur Premchand, Sarjak Ka Swapn, Vichardhara, Naye Vimarshaur Samkaleen Kavita, Upanyaski Paridhi and Rachanaka Jeevdravya. His literary criticism has received world-wide recognition in the domain of Hindi literature. He has been admired by various social networking sites and his literary and academic contributions are deeply cited.

Apart from his recognition in the literary fraternity, he has received several prestigious awards that include the Bharat Bhushan Aggarwal Puraskar, Devishankar Awasthee Samman, Bhartiya Bhasha Parishad Puraskar, Ram Chandra Shukla Puraskar, Vijay Dev Narayan Sahi Puraskar, Kriti Samman, Ram Vilas Sharma Alochana Puraskar, Parampara RiturajSamman, Gopal Krishan Rath Samman, etc.

He has delivered more than 250 lectures at various universities and institutions across India. 14 Ph.D and one post-doctoral scholars have completed their research work under his supervision. More than 10 research works have also been undertaken on his prominent literary works. Bhartiya Gyanpeeth has also published renowned books like Godaan, Rangbhumi and Dhruvswamini with the introductory note by Prof. Jitendra Srivastava. He has contributed more than 30 chapters in various edited books. He has also been a jury member of various important awards like the Bhartiya Gyanpeeth Navlekhan Puraskar etc.

He has given his contribution as a member in many prestigious committees like the Board of Management, Executive Council, Academic Council, Board of Studies, School Board etc. at IGNOU and in many other Indian universities as well.

प्रोफेसर नरेंद्र मिश्र मूलत: मध्‍यप्रदेश भोपाल के रहने वाले हैं। इस समय इग्‍नू नई दिल्‍ली के मानविकी विद्यापीठ में प्रोफेसर हिंदी के पद पर कार्यरत हैं। शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में 32 वर्ष से कार्यरत हैं।

डॉ राजवंती का जन्म हरियाणा के झज्झर जिले के खोरड़ा गाँव के साधारण किसान के परिवार में हुआ। वर्तमान में वैश्विक स्तर पर ख्याति प्राप्त इंदिरा गाँधी राष्ट्रीय मुक्त विश्वविद्यालय में सहायक आचार्य पद पर कार्यरत हैं, व एम ए हिंदी ऑनलाइन, इग्नोउ प्रोग्राम की संयोजक हैं। इनकी शिक्षा आकाश में चमकते सितारे की भाँति दैदीप्यमान है। इन्होंने दसवीं कक्षा से लेकर एम.फिल.तक अपनी शिक्षा यात्रा प्रथम श्रेणी में उत्तीर्ण कर अपनी उत्कृष्ट प्रतिभा का परिचय दिया। इनकी शैक्षणिक पड़ाव की एक उज्ज्वल पृष्ठभूमि रही है। इग्नू विश्वविद्यालय से महिला आत्मकथाविषय में पीएचडी की उपाधि प्राप्त की।

अतः दुनिया की आधी आबादी की स्त्री के अधिकारों,समस्याओं के प्रति गहरी समझ एवं संवेदनशीलता विकसित हुई। स्त्रीगत मुद्दों को इन्होंने बहुत ही बेबाकी ढंग से समाचार-पत्रों, रेडियो,दूरदर्शन विभिन्न राष्ट्रीय एवं अंतर्राष्ट्रीय संगोष्ठियों में शोध पत्रों के माध्यम से रखा। इसके अतिरिक्त साहित्य की गद्य एवं पद्य विधाओं में भी स्वतंत्र लेखन कर स्त्री साहित्य को बारीकी से उकेरा। इनके शोध पत्र 16 से अधिक प्रतिष्ठित पत्रिकाओं में प्रकाशित हो चुके हैं। ये 30 से भी अधिक राष्ट्रीय,अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन में शोध पत्र प्रस्तुत कर चुकी हैं। इन्होंने हिंदी साहित्य के विभिन्न विषयों पर ज्ञानदर्शन एवं ज्ञानवाणी इग्नू चैनल पर 80 से अधिक शैक्षणिक कार्यक्रमों का सफल संचालन किया है। विभिन्न शैक्षिक संस्थाओं में अब तक वे विभिन्न प्रतियोगिताओं में 50 से अधिक पुरस्कार प्राप्त कर चुकी हैं। निरंतर लेखन इनका अभीष्ट है। कला और कर्म का अनूठा संगम इनके व्यक्तित्व का अभिन्न अंग है। शैक्षणिक स्तर पर 11 वर्ष का अनुभव इन्हें विशिष्ट बनाता है। महाश्वेता देवी के उपन्यासों में दलित आदिवासी चेतनाऔर स्त्री आत्मकथाएँ विविध आयामपुस्तकें इनके लेखन के महत्वपूर्ण पड़ाव हैं।

Prof (Dr) Kaushalya (Kaushal Panwar),hails from Kaithal District in Haryana. She started her career as an Assistant Professor in Sanskrit Department in 2008 with Motilal Nehru College (Morning) in Delhi University. She became Associate Professor in the department of Sanskrit in 2020. She is presently working as a Professor of Sanskrit Discipline in the School of Humanities at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi on13thSeptember, 2021.(Afternoon)Her SPECIALISED AREA OF STUDY and research INTEREST are “Study of Dharamshastra and Literature, Vedic Studies, Indian Knowledge System and Dalit Literature.

She has authored of the 10 books and 16 Curriculum Biased Edited Book of IGNOU. She has completed her Minor Research Project entitled “Shastron Mein Shura StriVimarsh’by University Grants Commission, New Delhi. She has published 36 Research paper and Article in National and International journal.She has delivered 99 lectures in National and International Universities. Dr. Devesh Kumar Mishra ,presently working as a Professor of Sanskrit in School of Humanities, has taught undergraduate level classes in the college for more than 5 years after obtaining the degree of ( M.A , UGC.NET, Ph.D. ). He has done research work in Sahitya Shastra in the manuscript of Acharya Keshav Mishra's book named Alankarshekhar. In particular, along with Sanskrit poetry, poetic drama ,Sanskrit grammar,Vedic Sukta and Upanishads etc.

He also has a successful teaching Experience. He also holds a good command in Sanskrit Kavyashastra.There is also a special interest in Astrology and Karmakand with a deep learning in the mentioned fields . He also happens to be a passive thinker of The Indian Knowledge Tradition. While working as an assistant professor for more than 9 years in Uttarakhand Open University, he has ran courses related to BA in Sanskrit, Jyotish and Karamkand.

Alongside the above mentioned information , he as launched courses in Human values and Ethics and Communative Sanskrit. He has given numerous lectures in various dimensions of Indian knowledge tradition. He has been working in IGNOU for 4 years and has launched various programme that have been helpful for the spread of Indian knowledge and awareness of the same. These programmes include 4 Masters Degree Programmes in Jyotish, Vedic Studies, Hindu Studies and Bhagavadgita Studies, and 1 Post-Graduate Diploma in Vastushatra. In additon to these Programmes he has also contributed to Bachelors Degree in Sanskrit through preparing the courses. Since January 2021, she had the privilege of serving at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), renowned as the world’s largest university. Prior to joining this unique institution of distance education, she served for 18 years at Government Women’s College after being selected by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission. Gauri Devi Government Women’s College, Alwar. It was the first workplace of her professional journey.

After joining IGNOU in 2021, She contributed to the development and launch of various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including the Bachelor’s (Honours) Programme in Sanskrit and the Certificate Programme in Vedic Mathematics. Likewise, the Ph.D. Programme in Sanskrit was also initiated in 2021, and the four-year undergraduate degree programme was launched in January 2024. She has actively participated at national and international levels by presenting papers in numerous conferences. She has also been continuously engaged in publishing research papers in national and international journals, authoring books, and supervising research scholars.

Dr. Soniya is a distinguished Sanskrit scholar and educator, with foundational training in the traditional Gurukul environment. She earned a gold medal in her B.A. (Shastri) from Maharishi Dayanand University, completed her M.A. with high honors and completed her Ph.D. from the University of Delhi on a linguistic study of Rigvedic verbs. Her primary research interests lie in Sanskrit linguistics and Vedic studies.
With over a decade of teaching experience, Dr. Soniya is currently a permanent faculty member in the School of Humanities at IGNOU, where she develops and teaches Sanskrit programs for distance education. She has designed the 16-credit *भारतीय कालगणना* (Indian Calendar Studies) certificate and the comprehensive B.A. in Applied Sanskrit, and she coordinates several courses on the SWAYAM platform.
Her publications include the book *ऋग्वेदीय क्रियापद: भाशास्त्रीय चिंतन* and numerous articles and book chapters on Vedic language, grammar, and Indian philosophical thought. She has presented her research at various national and international conferences, contributing to the academic community through her lectures and workshops both in India and abroad. Dr. Soniya’s work reflects her deep commitment to advancing Sanskrit studies and preserving cultural heritage.

Dr. Reeta Gupta is an Assistant Professor at the Discipline of Sanskrit, School of Humanities, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi since 2021. Her area of specialization is Indian Architecture (Bharatiya Vastuvidya), and her research interests extend to Indian philosophy.

She completed her M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., and Post-Doctorate from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. Dr. Gupta has published multiple research papers in reputed national and international journals and has presented her work at various international and national conferences and seminars across diverse areas of Sanskrit studies. She has also participated in several workshops related to Sanskrit, contributing actively to academic and scholarly discourse.

At IGNOU, she contributed to the development and launch of the Master’s Programme in Sanskrit (Online). She has edited several courses and continues to serve as a coordinator for multiple courses offered by the Sanskrit Discipline.

Dr. Asheesh Kumar is a renowned name in the area of Sanskrit journalism. He is a former Sanskrit news anchor, editor and reporter in DD news channel. He is a creative writer of Sanskrit plays. He got second prize in All India Sanskrit short play writing competition for the play “Phesabukasya Anārakalī” by Delhi Sanskrit Academy, Govt. of Delhi. The plays written by him are staged on many occasions.

Presently he is an Assistant Professor of Sanskrit in Indira Gandhi National Open University [IGNOU], New Delhi. He has accomplished his doctorate in Mīmāṃsā school of philosophy under the supervision of Prof. Om Nath Bimali, Head, department of Sanskrit, university of Delhi, India. He has published 47 research papers/chapters in books in international/national research journals. He is the editor of one book titled “śodhapallavam” (Volume-1) published from New Delhi and Chief Editor of 13 books of IGNOU. Dr. Kumar has presented 15 research papers on various subjects in India and abroad. He is the Associate Editor/Editor of peer reviewed, refereed and indexed international journals of Jyotish, Sanskrit and Hindi research. He has organised 6 workshops, invited as a resource person/speaker by 33 international/national prestigious academic institutions, he has attended 46 international/national workshops/seminars/webinars/conferences.

Dr. Kumar has conducted several Sanskrit speaking camps in India and abroad like Australia, Sri Lanka and Singapore. His research interests are authenticating, editing and publishing manuscripts, design a curriculum for Sanskrit journalism specialization, exposure to Sanskrit literature to people with science and engineering, to work on simple standard Sanskrit, present jurisprudence and dharmaśāstra, buddhism and pūrvamīmāṃsā philosophy, analyzing the aspects which are common in between Sanskrit and Russian.

He has won more than 100 prizes in recitation (ślokāḥ), quiz, speech, debate, ślokāntākṣarī, akṣara-śloka, śalākā-parīkṣā, veda-mantroccāraṇa at college and university level. "Sanskrit Samaraadhak Samman" an honour given to him two times by Delhi Sanskrit Academy, Govt. of Delhi. “Teacher Innovation Award” a national award given to him by the Sri Aurobindo Society for sustainable efforts towards promoting joyful and experiential teaching. Dr. Liaqat Ali is an Assistant Professor of Urdu at the School of Humanities, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. He hails from a remote hamlet in Jammu and Kashmir, where he began his basic education. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Jammu. Driven by a thirst for knowledge, he pursued a Master's degree in Urdu at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. He earned his doctorate in Urdu under the guidance and supervision of Prof. Khawaja Mohd. Ekramuddin at the Centre of Indian Languages (CIL), School of Language, Literature, and Culture Studies (SLL&CS), JNU, New Delhi.
Dr. Ali specializes in the critical study of Urdu fiction, comparative literature, and contemporary Urdu literature in Jammu and Kashmir. He has authored four books: Tehqeeqi Wa Tanqeedi Khazain, Jammu Wa Kashmir Mein Urdu Adab 2000 se 2013, Irtekaz-E-Nazar, and Harf Harf Justju. He has published more than twenty research papers in various reputed journals and magazines and has presented over thirty research papers at national and international seminars and conferences. Additionally, he has participated in several workshops. Before joining IGNOU, Dr. Ali worked at the Directorate of Distance Education, University of Jammu, where he gained four years and ten months of teaching experience.

Dr. Ahmad Ali Jauher is an Assistant Professor of Urdu language and literature in the Discipline of Urdu, School of Humanities at Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. He was graduated from Mumtaz P.G. College, University of Lucknow and moved to Jawaharlal Nehru University for further studies from where he obtained his M.A. M.Phil. and PhD. degree in Urdu. He has been a recipient of the Junior Research Fellowship and Senior Research Fellowship (JRF & SRF) from University Grants Commission, New Delhi. His area of specialization is critical study of Urdu Fiction and Literary Criticism and his research interests include critical study of Urdu Short Stories, Urdu Novels, Urdu Ghazal, Urdu Nazm and Non-fiction genres of Urdu. He has published several articles in UGC Listed Urdu journals and other reputed Urdu Journals. He is the author of two books entitled "Tariq Chhataari: Fikr o Fan" and "Nikat o Jihaat".

Dr. Ahmad Ali Jauher has participated in many National and International seminars and presented papers. Prior to joining IGNOU, He worked as an Assistant Professor (Guest Faculty) in C.M.B College, Ghoghardiha, Madhubani and J.N College, Nehra, Darbhanga, Lalit Narayan Mithila University Darbhanga, Bihar. Dr Ahmad Ali Jauher is also coordinator for the programme of B.A Hons. Urdu and various courses at said university.

Dr. Shakir Ali Siddiqui is serving as an Assistant Professor in the Discipline of Urdu, School of Humanities, at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Mumtaz P.G. College, University of Lucknow, his Master’s degree in Urdu from Aligarh Muslim University, and earned his M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Urdu from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.
He served as a Senior Research Fellow at Jamia Millia Islamia for three years, during which he was actively engaged in teaching and research. Subsequently, he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urdu, Bhagwant University, Ajmer (Rajasthan) for nearly one and a half years, where he successfully supervised four M.Phil. dissertations on diverse literary topics. At present, Dr. Siddiqui is associated with IGNOU, where he not only teaches Urdu Language and Literature but also serves as the Coordinator for the Ph.D. Programme, M.A. (Applied Urdu), and several other courses. He is currently supervising four Ph.D. research scholars under his guidance. He has authored dozens of research papers and book chapters on various aspects of Urdu criticism and poetry. Recently, his book titled “Meer Anis ka Khusoosi Mutala” (Special Study of Mir Anis) was published and has been prescribed in the M.A. Urdu syllabus of the Directorate of Distance Education, University of Kashmir.

Dr Dharmveer Singh is an Assistant Professor of Urdu at the School of Humanities in Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. He belong from western U.P. He started his basic education from his native village. He did his graduation from Choudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut. His did his Master in Urdu from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He has accomplished his doctorate in Urdu under the leadership and supervision of Prof. Mazhar Mehdi Hussain, Centre of Indian Languages (CIL) School of Languages, Literature and Culture Studies (SLL&CS), JNU, New Delhi. His area of specialization is comparative literature study and contemporary Urdu literature. His three books entitled “Urdu Hindi k Muntakhib Dalit Afsane”, “Jadeed Urdu Nazam Mein Hindustani Anasir”, “Urdu Hindi Shayeri Mein Hindusatani Anasir Ka Taqabuli Mutala”, are published. His different research papers published in various reputed Journals and Magazines. He presented more than ten research papers in National and International Seminars/Conferences and participated in workshops. Prior to joining IGNOU, he was working in Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar College, University of Delhi with 03 (Three Year) Teaching experience.
