Prof. Srinivas Kumar joined School of Engineering and Technology,IGNOU ,New Delhi in 1989. His contribution first faculty and Coordinators for developing BTCM, BTWRE,ADCM, AWRE in 1992. He has coordinatred several innovative field oriented courses of Civil Engineering for the above Programmes. He was the Director of School of Engineering and Technology three times ( for the period 11th April 2008 to 04th August 2008, 5th August 2014 to 04th August 2017 and 5th August 2023 to 4th August 2026). He is the member of several professional bodies likr ISTE,IDEA etc.Life member for ISTE,IDEA and GSI (Geo-technical Society of India). He is also member for statutory bodies and other communities of IGNOU like Academic Councils, School Board of Engineering and Technology since inception etc. He was also involved in formulation and coordination of several MoUs like IGNOU-FDDI,IGNOU-CIDC,IGNOU-MoP etc. His area for research is Geo-technical engineering and energy conservation of buildings. He is Research Associate in IIT Delhi w.e.f. 1999 to 2003.Contribution in the area of Green Building and Energy Conservation in building papers in International Journals. Earlier he desined, developed and successfully launced Diploma in Civil Engineering and Bacheloer in Architecture programmes. N. Venkateshwarlu is Professor, Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering and Technology, IGNOU, New Delhi. He attained his PhD in Total Quality Management (2014) from SOET, IGNOU, New Delhi. He did his M.Tech in Industrial Engineering and Management (1996) from JNTU, Hyderabad. He did his Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering (1989) from University College of Engineering, Osmania University. He also completed his PG Diploma programmes from IGNOU in three disciplines such as Distance Education, Operations Management, Urban Planning and Development while in service. He shows keen interest in learning new things in education, in this endeavor, he completed two online MOOCs courses through courseera.com and gained “Certificate in Urban Infrastructure Management-Part-I” in 2017 and “ Certificate in Smart Cities: Management of Smart Urban Infrastructure” in 2018.During 1997 to till date he designed, developed and launched a 98 credits programme on “Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME)” during 2006 to 2010 as Programme coordinator. He also developed around 32 credit course materials for B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering programme and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering programmes as course coordinator. At present he has designed and developed two new and innovative programmes “Diploma in Smart City Development and Management (DSCDM)” of 32 Credits launched in July 2021 and “Certificate in Smart City Development and Management (CSCDM)” of 18 Credits launched in July 2022 in ODL mode as programme coordinator. He also developed and launched two online MOOCs courses “Quality Engineering and Management “of 4 credits and “BME-025 Condition Monitoring and Maintenance Management” of 2 Credits through SWAYAM portal.

Prof. Rakhi Sharma is a Professor in the discipline of Electrical Engineering and was former Director, School of Engineering & Technology (SOET), Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. She holds doctoral degree, Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, India and post graduation, Master of Technology (M.Tech.) with Distinction from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal, M.P. She obtained her Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Electrical Engineering from Government Engineering College Jabalpur, M.P. Her areas of research interest includes Renewable Energy, Solar Energy technology and applications, Energy Systems and Environmental issues, Electrical Power System.
Prof. Rakhi Sharma is the recipient of prestigious All India University Gold Medal award for ‘Innovations in Distance Education’-2010. She has been conferred with the All India University Gold Medal for the ‘Best Research Paper Award’-2014 at IGNOU, New Delhi. Apart from this she also has many attainments in sport, won medals in state/university level tournaments and represented M.P. State at National Level Table Tennis tournaments. She won Youth Merit Award and selected for the National Scholarship Scheme for meritorious candidates from Madhya Pradesh.
She has more than 26 years of teaching and research experience and contributed significantly to the fields of electrical engineering and renewable energy. She has contributed extensively in designing, development and implementation of several technical academic courses at Certificate/UG/PG level in the area of electrical power and energy as Course/Programme coordinator. She has been associated with many collaborative projects. Under the Industry-education collaborative projects of IGNOU and Ministry of Power, she took initiatives as Project coordinator and planned, designed and successfully launched two innovative competency based skill development and capacity building training programmes in Power Distribution for engineers, managers and technicians engaged in power sector. Under the industrial-education work linkage programme in association with International Solar Alliance, she has worked for the development of solar application programme. She has been associated with curriculum development of courses, edited chapters/blocks and developed Self Instructional Material of many technical courses at the UG/PG/Certificate/Ph.D. level. She specializes in use of multi-media and e-learning resources in teaching learning and coordinated/conducted more than 100 Videos/Teleconferencing/EDUSAT programmes from EMPC Studios, IGNOU, delivered several educational programmes through Gyan Darshan (Television), Swayam Prabha DTH channel and interactive radio counseling through Gyan Vani (FM radio). She has developed skill based MOOC (Massive Open and Online Course) titled ‘Electricity and Safety Measures’ that is hosted on the SWAYAM platform of the Ministry of Education.
She has over 35 research publications in international journals of repute and international/national conferences. She is reviewer of reputed international journals and also delivered invited talks in reputed organizations. She has been an Executive member of DKDF, Board of technical education, Govt. of NCT of Delhi (2015-18), Member, UG Board of Studies, J.C. Prof. Sanjay Agrawal is presently a Professor in Electrical Engineering at the School of Engineering and Technology, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. Prof Agrawal has also worked as Pro Vice-Chancellor of Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (CSVTU) Bhilai. He is the recipient of the prestigious Bhaskara Solar Energy Fellowship from the Indo-US Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF) and the Department of Science and Technology (DST), India. This led him to his Post Doctoral Fellowship from Smart Grid Energy Research Centre, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA),USA. Prof Agrawal received his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
He has more than 22 years of rich teaching and research experience with a specialization in Electrical Engineering. He has published more than 70 papers in international journals. According to Google Scholar, his total citationsare over 2470 with andi-10 index of 39 and an h-index of 27.He has presented papers in Sweden, Spain, and the USA and has given more than 50 invited talks in reputed organizations. He has also published 03 patents, titled ‘Improved Hybrid Solar Collector’, ‘Hybrid Photovoltaic Thermal Apparatus with V-Groove Absorber” and Sheet and tubes based hybrid photovoltaic thermal system. He has guided 09 Ph.D. scholars so far and is a member of the editorial board and panel of reviewers of reputed international journals. Prof Agrawal has authored 03 books namely Analog and Digital Electronics, Control System, and Renewable Energy Technologies.
His industrial experience includes working with MNCs like Johnson Control (I) PVT Ltd. He has worked on Projects like ‘Automatic power factor correction’ funded by Applied Electro-Magnetic (P) Ltd, ‘Improved hybrid solar cooker’, and ‘Greenhouse dryer’ funded by TEQIP.
He has designed and developed industry-oriented programs like the PG Certificate and PG Diploma in Industrial Safety. He also coordinates a skill-oriented certificate course for technicians in Motorcycle Service Repair which is now also being offered to South African countries through IGNOU-GOAL, Guyana Project.
He has also developed 06 Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs): Principles of Electrical Science, Renewable Energy Technologies and Their Uses, Emerging Technologies in Renewable Energy, Power Generation Technologies, Industrial Automation and Drives, and Maintenance and Testing of Electrical Machines. All these courses are available on the SWAYAM platform. On the SWAYAM PRABHA channel of the Ministry of Education, he coordinates a course on ‘Electrical and Mechanical Safety’.
