The Post Graduate Diploma in Writings from the Margins aims to sensitize learners in emerging marginalized literatures. It examines issues faced by the marginalized in our country, and takes into account fiction, poetry, drama, autobiography, critical thought, and language, for exploration and analysis, including both Dalit and Tribal narratives. This programme also analyzes the concept of Indian Literature, examines important texts closely, including short fiction, poetry, play, non-fictional prose, in English translations. It gives us a glimpse of folklore as it addressing representative oral and written folk literatures from across the globe, and acquaints the learners with folk and tribal versions of Indian Bhasha literatures. And lastly we look at an integral part of the curricula at colleges and universities across the globe - literary theory and criticism, beginning from classical times, including romantic criticism, new criticism, feminist theories, deconstruction and contemporary theories.
