Introduction

Following UGC guidelines, University has launched Bachelor’s Degree programme in science. The objectives of this programme are to provide opportunities for higher science education to those who missed regular education such as working persons, people living in rural/remote areas, homemakers and the disadvantaged people of the society and to develop a scientific attitude towards life. The B.Sc. degree is at par with and is equivalent to that of any other university in the country. The science graduates of this University have been received well in institutions of higher learning and in various professions. Many IGNOU B.Sc. degree holders have been admitted for post-graduate studies in premier institutions in India and abroad.

Objective

The broad objective of the B.Sc. Programme is to provide higher education required for a B.Sc. degree in conformity with the UGC-CBCS to aspirants (including learners from the deprived sections and those living in remote and rural areas) seeking a degree for employment, further higher education, promotion in career and professional development. The programme’s thrust is on giving the learners a through and sound background in theoretical and practical-oriented courses relevant to the current and emerging developments in the field of sciences.
