The School of Gender and Development Studies offers the undergraduate Certificate Programme in Gender and Science. This would be an interdisciplinary Programme, to be offered to students from disciplines of natural and social sciences, humanities and allied sciences. The objective of the Programme is to critically analyze the culture, content and practice of science from a gender perspective. It will sensitize the learners to engage with the institution of science to be able to increase gender visibility in areas of medicine, natural resource management, agriculture, leadership and women in science.
The thrust areas of the Programme are: Gender, science and society; gender and health sciences; and women and innovation. The programme is expected to be of interest to both undergraduate and graduate students; scientists working with the government institutions; researchers; people working with corporate sectors; programme implementation officers; and activists engaged in people’s science movements.
