It also deals with details of natural and other resources and their management and efficient utilization for crop production. Besides, improved crop production technology for maximizing the production of major cereals, coarse grain crops, pulses, and oilseeds has also been covered. The course also explains briefly the scope, prospectus, and practices of fruits, vegetables, and flowers production. The livestock sector also plays a significant role in the agricultural economy and exhibits a synergetic role in the production of the agriculture sector. The course introduces with composition and production of livestock enterprises. The course in the last provides an overview of apiculture, sericulture, agro-forestry, and mushroom production. These allied sectors constitute important sources of income and employment in the rural economy.

The course on Managerial Economics and Finance in Agribusiness has been purposively designed to make you understand the nature and scope of managerial economics and its role in facilitating the decision-making process to make the organizations profiteering one. The microeconomic theory and initial applications including the concepts of demand and supply will elaborate the concepts like price elasticity, income elasticity, cross elasticity, and elasticity of substitution. On the other hand, the course will also educate you about consumer surplus, demand forecasting methods, reasons for fluctuating demand for agricultural commodities, and market equilibrium. Additionally, the course covers the nuances of agribusiness marketing and the environment. The project requires systematic planning and careful implementation. Therefore, the application of knowledge, skill, tools, and techniques in the project environment refers to project management. Project management involves decision-making for the planning, organizing, coordination, monitoring, and control of several interrelated time-bound activities. Project managers use several tools and techniques to identify the best possible initial plan and to assess the impact of deviations to initiate necessary corrective measures. The students of project management would upon going through the course, learn the concept of the project, project formulation, implementation, and evaluation of the project.
