Eligibility for admission:  Candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. in Journalism and Mass Communication program must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

• The candidate should possess a Master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication or a related discipline from a recognized university.
• The candidate must have obtained at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in the qualifying examination (50% marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non- creamy layer) and differently-abled categories, as per UGC norms).
• Candidates must produce the UGC-NET certificate issued by National Test Agency (NTA) indicating if they are eligible for Ph.D. only, Ph.D. and lectureship or have qualified JRF.

• The minimum duration of the program is three (3) years, including coursework.
• The maximum duration allowed to complete the program is six (6) years from the date of registration.
• Candidates are required to complete the coursework, research proposal, and doctoral thesis within the stipulated time frame.
