Introduction

Qualification Pack – Executive – Emergency Healthcare (QPEEH) (ODL) is a one-year diploma programme of 32 credits. The programme will benefit those who wish to learn first aid as per their interest and also those who want to pursue careers in which first aid training and certification is necessary for recruitment, such as assistants and aides working in nursing homes, mobile ambulances, industries, construction sites, schools, sports or water sports coaches, drivers, conductors, fire marshals, traffic police, Army personnel, teachers in schools, flight cabin crew members and air-hostesses, etc. It is also suitable for those whose organizations have made it mandatory for their workers to undergo first aid training.

Note: It is approved in the 40th NSQC meeting dated 22-10-2024 at Level 4.5 as per NCVET guidelines.

Objective

After completing this programme, learners will be able to:

• Describe and discuss the basic principles and skills of first aid.
• Recognize symptoms/conditions requiring first aid and deal with emergency situations.
• Provide first aid in various situations and settings, including disasters, epidemics, and pandemics.
• Provide psychosocial first aid to victims and families, including medical, social, and psychological rehabilitation through team building.
• Deliver health education for health promotion and utilization of healthcare services.
• Communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
• Train other categories of people for immediate response to emergency situations.
