Consultant Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development, Solomon Islands :- Mr. Brian Sayer
Brian Sayer is an independent specialist in distance learning for development, currently supporting teacher education programmes and a national policy for DFL in Solomon Islands. He is also a Visiting Fellow of the University of London Centre for Distance Education and led the organisation of the fifth Pan Commonwealth Forum (PCF5) which was held in the UK in 2008.
Brian has worked in distance education since the 1970s, with a focus on community education and international development. He started his career with the UK Open University and subsequently worked on distance education projects and capacity building with government departments, institutions and NGOs in the UK, Africa, Asia and the Pacific. From 2000-2009 he was Distance Learning Adviser to the University of London where he established and led the Centre for Distance Education, the University’s eCampus and a thriving programme of research in distance education.
