Dr. K. Murugan joined the Tamil Nadu Open University, Chennai, India in August 2004 as Professor and Founding Head of the School of Humanities and the Founding Director in charge of the Student Support Services Division. Immediately prior to this assignment, he was working for the erstwhile University of the West Indies Distance Education Centre (UWIDEC), Barbados as Curriculum Development Specialist (1998-2004). He was one of the earliest who joined the Indira Gandhi National Open University at its inception in 1986 and associated with it until December 1997. A regular at ODL conferences, he is widely published and travelled; has conducted several ODL workshops and is on the Editorial/Review Boards of IJOL and IRRDOL.
