Establishment of the Special Projects Unit (SPU) has been approved by the Board of Management vide BM 163.26.1 with the objective of strengthening the University’s institutional capacity to effectively plan, coordinate, and manage a wide range of projects and collaborative initiatives.

The SPU will function as a central nodal unit for the coordination, monitoring, and reporting of new and ongoing institutional projects, Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), and collaborations undertaken by the University. These initiatives will broadly cover areas such as Skill Development, Translation, Industry Academia Collaboration, and Technological Innovations, at both national and international levels, in alignment with the University’s vision and mission.

The Unit will work in close coordination with all Schools, Divisions, Regional Centres, and partner institutions, facilitating inter-departmental collaboration and providing structured support for project execution. Through systematic monitoring and regular reporting mechanisms, the SPU will promote accountability, transparency, timely implementation, and quality outcomes across all projects.

The establishment of the Special Projects Unit is expected to significantly enhance the University’s ability to manage diverse and complex projects efficiently, strengthen partnerships with academic and industry stakeholders, and foster innovation and capacity building within the institution.
